Best Smart Rings of 2026: Oura vs. RingConn vs. Ultrahuman

Looking for the best smart ring? We compare the Oura Ring 5, RingConn Gen 3 and Ultrahuman Ring PRO on price, battery life, sizing and subscription fees.

The best smart ring depends on what matters most to you. The Oura Ring 5 is the polished all-rounder for sleep and recovery tracking, the RingConn Gen 3 is the no-subscription pick with a 14-day battery, and the Ultrahuman Ring PRO promises up to 15 days of battery with no subscription for core tracking. Oura charges $5.99 a month after your first month, while RingConn and Ultrahuman do not charge for their core features.

Smart rings track your heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), skin temperature, sleep and activity from your finger, with no screen to distract you and no daily charging. Prices and availability change often, so check the current price before you buy.

Oura Ring 5: Best for Sleep and Recovery Tracking

The Oura Ring 5 is the ring most shoppers compare everything else against. Its Amazon listing describes it as 40% smaller than the previous generation, with an all-titanium design, IP68 water resistance, about a week of battery life and sizes 6 to 13. Oura tracks more than 50 health metrics, including sleep, stress, heart health and women's health, and connects with over 40 apps such as Natural Cycles and Strava. It starts at $399, plus the $5.99 monthly membership. Buy it if you want the most polished app and the widest app support, and you don't mind a subscription.

RingConn Gen 3: Best No-Subscription Smart Ring

The RingConn Gen 3 costs $349 on Amazon and has no app subscription. Its listing highlights 14-day battery life, vibration alerts, sleep, fitness and heart rate tracking, sizes 6 to 15, and vascular health insights after a one-time calibration. RingConn settled its patent dispute with Oura in October 2025 and continues to sell in the US. Buy it if you want long battery life and no monthly fees. The older RingConn Gen 2 is also still sold, for less.

Ultrahuman Ring PRO: Longest Battery Life, With Limited Availability

Ultrahuman's rings were blocked from US sales in a patent dispute with Oura, and the older Ultrahuman Ring AIR is no longer sold in the US. The newer Ring PRO returned to US pre-orders in March 2026. It offers up to 15 days of battery life, 100 meter water resistance and no subscription for core tracking, and it launched at $399, or $479 with the charging case. Oura has said the customs decision that allowed Ultrahuman back is not final, so availability could change. Check Ultrahuman's website for current pricing and shipping.

Smart Ring Subscriptions: What You Really Pay

Oura includes your first month of membership, then charges $5.99 a month, which adds up to about $144 over two years on top of the price of the ring. RingConn and Ultrahuman do not charge for their core tracking. Ultrahuman does sell optional paid add-ons inside its app, so check what is included before you buy.

How to Choose the Right Ring Size

Smart rings only work well when the sensors sit flush against your skin, so ring size is different from regular jewelry sizing. Every major brand recommends ordering a sizing kit first. Oura's kit costs about $10.

Smart rings perform best on the index, middle or ring finger, and the index finger generally gives the most consistent heart rate readings. Wear the plastic sizer for 24 hours, because finger size changes with temperature, hydration and sleep, and make sure it doesn't become painfully tight overnight. Then check the twist test: a properly fitted ring slides over your knuckle with light resistance, but does not spin freely when you make a fist.

Final Verdict: Which Smart Ring to Buy

Choose Oura if you want the most polished app, the deepest sleep and women's health insights, and accept the monthly fee. Choose RingConn if you want long battery life and no subscription. Choose Ultrahuman if you want the longest battery life and are comfortable buying directly from the brand and checking availability first. Whichever you pick, order the sizing kit before you commit.
